Customer Testimonials

So I found Howard’s products after a google search. So so pleased with your cherry [Restor-A-Finish] and the Feed-N-Wax. I have never restored ANYTHING and am so glad I found your products.  Here are my before and after photos:

I have to tell you that that product of yours, Restor-A-Shine is remarkable... below are before and after, with only a few minutes work... I might have even had better results with some additional effort.  The only problem, though, is my wife now wants me to do the entire table. <laugh>

My mom was really disappointed when she spilled polish remover and ruined her little table that sits by her recliner. It was her mom's table and it's where she keeps her Bible and her prayer lists. It honestly just took a bit of sanding and some maple-pine Restore-A-Finish. Easy project and it looks beautiful!

I thought I’d have to refinish or paint my 1968 original cabinets in my house, and have been putting it off since I bought the house because I didn’t want to do either. I decided to try this first, and wasn’t expecting much. But WOW, look how much better they look! Check out the before and after photos. Under $10 for a bottle [Feed-N-Wax] and I didn’t even use half to do the whole kitchen. I warmed mine up in some hot tap water, as it was kinda solid. I also scrubbed the cabinets with TSP first, but that probably isn’t necessary unless yours are really grimy.

I used Restor-A-Finish on a mahogany sided guitar with original nitrocellulose lacquer finish. It was seriously scratched and dull. A quick wipe-on and wipe-off and the guitar looks amazing.

Hello, I am a chair seat weaver in York, Pa. When I get a chair to replace a cane seat, I always use the Howard's Beeswax and Orange Oil on the chair. If the chair has a really faded finish, I use the Howard's Restor-A-Finish, followed by the beeswax and orange oil [Feed-N-Wax]. The customers can't believe the improvement to their chairs. I've had comments like "It's looks new!" "Is it the same chair?" In other words, cleaning and polishing the chair creates a renewed appreciation for their piece of furniture. I'm getting all of the credit for the chairs like new appearance. However, the credit should go to Howard's Restor-a-Finish. Thank you for a great product that is easy to apply and the finished result is perfect. All the best to you,

Stephen A.

I have never restored any type of wood or furniture before purchasing your products. I was given an antique dresser that was pretty banged up, had water rings, chips out of it, and scratches all over - but I could see potential. I went to Home Depot to see if I could find something to fix it, having no idea what I should look for when I saw your product on the shelf. I read the description of what it does, and thought it sounded perfect and easy to use. I bought it and used it last night. I can't believe how amazing it is! I bought the Restore-A-Finish and the Feed-N-Wax. It has completely restored the dresser to the beauty it had many many years ago. I can't believe something like this exists! Thank you so much for creating an effective product that is easy for beginners to use! I will tell everyone about it that will listen. It was such a satisfying and rewarding process for a perfectionist like me.

I had this front door and sidelights custom-made for our home. It faces due south and is exposed to a lot of UV light. The Howard SunShield Wood protector with UV protection works amazingly well. I absolutely would not trust this front door to any other product. I have been in the detail industry for close to 40 years. And as far as wood protection goes Howard's is number one.

I purchased a bottle of this miracle product [Feed-N-Wax] and have been applying it to all of my woodwork, baseboards, cabinets.  I cannot believe how beautiful and vibrant everything looks now.  It is just simply amazing.  I cannot believe the difference and cannot believe I did not know about this product sooner!  I was about ready to have my woodwork redone before selling!  No need now! Thank you again for a great product!  I will definitely be boasting to everyone about this!

Your products make restoring furniture very easy. I weave cane into antique chair seats. I am celebrating 20 years of doing this service. I always use the Restor-A-Finish while I am restoring a treasured chair of a customer. I almost always get the WOW factor when I reveal their restored chair. Thank you for your products. They are easy to use and the results are terrific. Continued success.

Hello, I recently obtained 6 antique pieces from my Grandmother's outbuilding where they had been stored for nearly 20 years. Needless to say, they were not in very good shape. A friend of mine who worked at an antique store for years recommended your Restor-A-Finish. I went and bought 3 cans. NEVER have I been so impressed with a product in my life!! I wish I had taken before and after photos because the difference is truly remarkable. My husband came out to the garage and could not believe it was the same furniture! I don't usually write letters like this, but I had to say thank you for such a wonderful product!!

Attached are two photos of my mercantile counter that is about 125 - 150 years old. A year and a half ago all of our antiques were in storage during hurricane Harvey in Houston Texas because we have been building a house in the country. Our furniture sat in about 18” of water in storage units. We could not get in to get it for 3 weeks because the water was still up. When I saw it, I was heartbroken because of the way it looked. I have used your products on all our antiques for years, so I gave it a try.  I was amazed and overjoyed at the outcome. I got my old counter back!!!   We had already stocked up on the Wood Conditioner [Feed-N-Wax] and started using it on our other pieces. Don’t know what we would do without it. We have been collecting antiques for 48 years and are so thankful for your products.

What a wonderful job Howard products [Restor-A-Finish and Feed-N-Wax] did in my recent restoration. Thanks!

Thank you so much for such a great product!! I have an old library table that sat in my Dad’s basement for 20+ years and who knows how long at my grandpa’s before that. Someone had also set something wet on the table and the finish had severe water damage. Although I was skeptical, I tried Restor-A-Finish followed by Feed-N-Wax and now have the most beautiful piece of wood furniture I’ve seen. Thank you!!!

D. Judkins

Restor-A-Finish followed by Feed-N-Wax is the real deal. Simple to use and great results. That was my grandparent’s solid walnut table.  I was thrilled when it came out as good as it did.

Don R.

Your Feed-N-Wax is such an awesome product! We live in an A-frame home built in the 1980s with original hardwood floors. I happened upon an article last week recommending this product & I placed an order through Amazon. So far two bathroom floors, a portion of our kitchen and two windowsills have been treated with your product & the results are just amazing. I think each day the floors & windowsills look richer. This saved us from hiring a professional to treat the wood. We look forward to completing every wood surface in our home with this great product.

I wanted to take a moment to tell you that I am extremely satisfied with your Butcher Block Conditioner. I recently made a Walnut end grain butcher block for my wife’s Christmas present. I finished it with your Butcher Block Conditioner and couldn’t be happier with the finish. Easy to apply and creates a fantastic shine.

Thank you for this remarkable product. This was an old table that has been in my family for years. It was accidentally stored in the attic too close to the wood stove pipe, and was severely dried out from the heat. I brought it home and had it covered up for a couple of years thinking the damage was too great to ever bring back the original finish.. My wife bought your product [Feed-N-Wax], and It did wonders for the table as you can see. I never thought a product could achieve such results. It looks great...!!!  I am a true believer and a fan.

Rob C.

I decided to use mahogany since that was the original finish under the hardware on the chest. I am beyond thrilled with the results. Just Wow on the results. I love both the Restor-A-Finish and Feed-N-Wax. Fantastic products and have enthusiastically recommended them to my friends.

Lois P.

Just wanted to email you and say how great your product is! We used Restor-A-Finish on some mid-century modern furniture that we purchased on craigslist and the difference was amazing. When we bought a wall unit my wife was very skeptical and worried because it looked to be in such bad shape. I said "don't worry, we can fix it." We rubbed it on the furniture and she's still AMAZED at the new finish! We could not be happier!

You saved me from my mother-in-law... We thought she gave us the mahogany drop leaf table and chair set, more than 10 years ago....... But now that we bought an antique oak table set, she wants hers back! It hasn't been without a table cloth since the kids were in their teens (now in their 20's). Many unsightly water marks and such..... I found your product [Restor-A-Finish] and with a little elbow grease, I can give it back to her without breaking a sweat! Thanks! I am now praising your product to anyone that will listen!

I'm here to exclaim that your products exceeded my expectations. I now love my butcher block counters. Not only do they look wonderful, but they are also clean, oiled, and conditioned. To my amazement, they also are the easiest counters to clean. I followed the process completely, not rushing any application phase. It did take me a couple of days overall because I also allowed for each product and coat to be completely dry before applying another. I did a total of four coats each of Howard Cutting Board Oil and Howard Butcher Block Conditioner. While it was an additional day to complete, the reward in the finished counters outweighs the time. You should see the color, grain, and beauty in my counters now! I have applied your products on all three of my counters. Thank you so much for your amazing products. I am a very grateful customer.

I would like to provide a testimonial for your Feed-N-Wax. I love it! I have some very nice antique oak and pine furniture that really shine when I apply your product. Feed-N-Wax SAVED a beautiful Stickley quarter sawn oak dresser when, while on vacation, someone accidentally "watered" a fake plant on top of the dresser. When I got home two weeks later, you can imagine the horrid water stain/spot on the finish. I immediately put Feed-N-Wax on top where the water spot was and within 3 minutes, I expressed a huge sigh of relief as the water spot disappeared and the finish looked good as new. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

You have a new customer for life right here! I wanted to share my story and a "before and after" picture that tells in 1000 words how amazing your product is. I actually bought your product as an impulse buy at Home Depot while shopping for other items. I recently purchased an antique office chair and had a feeling it would help bring out the beauty of the wood. I was amazed at the results! Since then, I've been running around the house rubbing Feed-N-Wax into anything with a grain.

Amazing product! Lysol disinfectant spray was used to "clean" our wooden bar. The spray left horrible white stains and damaged the wood. We attempted to use olive oil (didn't work) and wood wax paste (also didn't work) to fix it. Got the mahogany colored Restor-A-Finish and it worked like a charm! The bar now looks better than ever! The product was easy to apply (we used a steel wool pad) and had instant results. Very happy and would highly recommend! See before and after pictures!

Our piano store refinishes, restores and refurbishes pianos. We have been doing this for over 44 years and know what it takes to make a piano look like new. Restor-A-Finish is what we use to give older finishes the new look. It's easy to use and gives lasting results. If our customers only knew. Thank you.

My wife and I are extremely pleased with the results we achieved restoring this antique drop leaf coffee table. The original coffee table’s finish was dull, had water marks, scratches, and some pretty bad heat damage in the form of a 5 x 7 patch of the finish with a crackled look and texture. I used Howard’s Restore-A-Finish with 0000 steel wool to restore most of the damaged finish and bring it back to a semi-glossy luster. Then I experimented with a couple of applications your Restore-A-Shine polishing compound to remove the fine lines caused by the steel wool, and polish out the areas around the heat damage and hazy areas. I began with a light to moderate pressure then added a bit more elbow grease to polish out the stubborn areas. Finally an application of the Howard Citrus-Shield Premium Paste Wax added just the touch of glossy protection I was looking for.

I would just like to thank you for this wonderful product. I have a bedroom set, mahogany, that my dog clawed up pretty bad. To have it refinished was going to cost me some big money. This set was purchased by my parents for me in 1953, and I still have it. Anyway, while at [the store] yesterday, I noticed your product and decided to give it a try. OH, MY WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Not to say that all of the scars are gone, but I can at least live with it and not get rid of the set, as I had planned on doing. I am really amazed at how well Restor-A-Finish worked. Thank you for making me a Happy Camper once again.

I refinished my kitchen table to a ‘NEAR NEW’ look.  The blemishes in the surface disappeared.  I cannot say enough good things about your product [Restor-A-Finish].  You took what may have been a long and lengthy refinish project, to a simple 3 hour (with drying time) refinish project.  The ‘Feed-N-Wax’ was the frosting on the cake.  It brought out the deep color of the renewed table top.

Norman T.

Mr. Howard, Restor-A-Shine worked beautifully! I was more than pleased with the results. I really thought I had ruined my table, but Restor-A-Shine has made it look new again. There was no residue from buffing, so I didn't have to use the other recommended products. Thank you so much for your guidance in purchasing this product. I'll highly recommend it to others at every opportunity.

Here are before and after pics showing what a great job Restore a finish does. I was lucky to find 7 antique pieces in the last week. 6 are 19th century and one early 1900s. All had the original finish which is shellac. All were very poor condition badly scratched. I feared I would have to strip them. Restore a finish did a fantastic job on them all. Bringing them to a restored condition I would not have thought possible. I will now use your paste wax and Feed n wax for protection. These are all excellent products.

I used Howard’s walnut Restore-A-Finish and Howard’s Feed-N-Wax. 1974 Mexican colonial furniture / bench.

I've been aware of your products for a long time but this past weekend was the first time we had the opportunity to use Restor-A-Finish and Feed-N-Wax. We have a beautiful oak front door that gets the morning sun every day, so needless to say, it was in bad shape. It took my husband only 30-minutes to wipe on the Restor-A-Finish. He was so amazed how good the door looked. We wished we had taken before and after pictures because the difference was truly amazing. He waited the required time then applied the Feed-N-Wax. It looks like we got a new door. It brought out the wood grain beautifully. We did not have to take the door down nor did we have to open up the house due to fumes as there was hardly any odor at all. We have told our friends who spent time and energy on their door, sanding, staining and varnishing. They are going to use your products because what they did barely lasted a year. Thank you for a really GREAT product.

I just wanted to send you a note and let you know I am very impressed with Howard's Cutting Board Oil. I started making end-grain cutting boards and I could not find an oil or mixture that suited me. I tried other brands, and even was exploring making some. However, I ordered your product and I have been very impressed!! It soaks in my boards very nicely and the wood seems to take it very well! My husband does woodcarving and some woodworking and I make cutting boards. I think he is very impressed with it also! Everyone that is interested in my cutting boards I am for sure going to recommend your product!

Dawn A.

Dear Howard Products people!! My husband found these nice leather chairs...however some child decided that it was his/her art project and did designs, names... whatever!! I thought well, maybe I might be able to restore the leather.. I tried a cleaner conditioner... no name to mention here... it cleaned it.. but you could still see the "artwork" so I went to my local wood and leather furniture store here in Sandy Utah... which unfortunately they didn't have any real hands on experience with your "Leather Conditioner" product.... but I thought free chairs.. $9.95.... if it works.. YAY!!! Well, I was sooooo blown away by the results, I called the store back to let them know so they could advise people on buying your product! I am a believer! They both look AMAZING!

Twenty-five years ago I purchased a cabinet that is full of inlayed Ivory from a shop. We did not know the true value until we had water damage with a tree falling on our home. That was two years ago. The cabinet was in the main room of damage. I was in fear of fixing the cabinet due to the insurance company giving us $4500.00 on this piece alone. I work for the Home Depot and I helped a person over the weekend find your Restor-A-Finish. The person said this was the best product ever known to man to get out white spots and scratches in an antique. Very fearful I read your directions and started working on the cabinet this morning. I have a cabinet more beautiful now than when I bought it. Words can not express how happy I am that your product is in our local store.

M. Karczmarczyk

I originally bought the Feed-N-Wax and Restor-A-Finish for an antique radio and they worked really well.  I used the Feed-N-Wax on an old ice box that was in a basement with dual dehumidifiers for 30+ years.  The wood was so dry any liquid cleaner was quickly absorbed.  So instead for a few weeks I used Feed-N-Wax, coating it with a copious amount, leaving it, wiping and reapplying.  It has brought the piece back to normal!

Michael E.

The Feed-N-Wax product is fantastic! Absolutely unbelievable results on our family heirloom piano that is 125 years old! The wood is glowing like new.

Amber O.

This stuff works! [Restor-A-Finish] I had little hope that this table could be restored without stripping the finish.   I had to experiment a bit with the grade of steel wool.  The 0000 grade wasn't cutting it, so I gradually moved up and found that 0 was the magic number.  It took a few hours and lots of elbow grease, but I'm so pleased with the results.  Thank You!
